Webinar date and time: April 27, 2022 16:00 CET | Free registration

Dr. Mariano Bresciani, senior researcher at CNR, will join the upcoming Water-ForCE webinar ‘Public-Private partnerships for Copernicus water services‘. Mariano is an expert in remote sensing techniques of aquatic ecosystems and will present on the topic “EO for supporting freshwater reservoirs management: moving towards operational services based on PrimeWater experience”.

Webinar summary:

The use of the Copernicus program for monitoring inland waters highlights the links with the political and legislative cycle: this covers water policies as well as policies related to agriculture and the environment. Modern decision-making in these domains aims to take into account existing Earth Observation technologies, which is greatly aided by innovations developed in the private sector.

This webinar will look at how European and international regulations enable Copernicus water applications. The impact of policies on commercial activity in this sector will also be considered in order to assess the impact on Copernicus uptake.

Other speakers will include: Dr. Annelies Hommersom from Water Insight and Dr. Iulian Nichersu from the Danube Delta National Institute for Research and Development.
